The Waldie/Kanouse Visitor Center and the nature trail comprise the infrastructure of the Foundation’s outdoor classroom. An historic log barn, the center was renovated in 2006 in memory of longtime friends of the Foundation, Scott Waldie and M.C. “Bud” Kanouse. The nature trail, constructed in 2004 by local elementary and high school students, is a mile-and-a-half-long trail through the northern end of the ranch property. The center is a gathering place and educational resource for the community, and sits at the head of the trail.
